FORT FAIRFIELD, Maine — The 32nd annual “Tiger” Basketball Camp wrapped up Friday, June 30. The two week-long sessions, the first for boys June 19-23 and the second for girls June 26-30, were held at both the Lawrence Gardner Gymnasium at Fort Fairfield High School and the Fort Fairfield Elementary School gymnasium.

More than 260 youths attended the camps and more than 400 people were fed at the family barbecues, held each Friday. Championship events capped off each week of camp, including 1-on-1, 3-on-3, foul shooting and skills competitions, team championship games and all-star games. The high school division campers performed a routine and T-shirts and basketballs were presented to each youth. Drawings were held for prizes such as Boston Celtics tickets, University of Maine basketball tickets and a portable basketball hoop.

Awards also were presented on the final day. Hunter Sennett of Houlton was named most valuable player of boys’ week, while Salena Savage of Caribou captured the same honor during the girls’ week.

“It was another awesome week,” said director Larry Gardner. “The kids were extremely competitive and well behaved and there is no better staff as they provided two unbelievable weeks of knowledge, hard work and care for all the players at camp.”
