The Houlton Community Golf Course is cruising along very well this year. Greens are superb and the grounds crew has the rest of the course looking great. It was a very busy time on the links this weekend with all the guests returning for the Fourth of July holiday.
Saturday we had the Alumni Scramble in the morning. The winning teams were Ryan Brewer, Kevin Cartin, Ian and Porter Gervais, first place; the Tuttle Clan from New Limerick, David, Kevin, Cody, and Ben, second place; and the York family with Robert Turner, third place. A good time was had by all.
Junior golf continues on Mondays. Remember they will be on the course in the mornings so give them room. Upcoming events this month will be a couples scramble on Friday, July 14, at 5:30 p.m. Singles are welcome and we will pair you up. In August we will host the County Open to benefit the Houlton Regional Hospital.
The Lakeside Restaurant is doing well. Last Friday’s Night with Paul LaPointe was a huge success. The music played on and the patrons sang together. Come on out to the course this week and lets play nine.
