MAPLETON, Maine – Ruth A. LaCombe, 75, passed away surrounded by her loving family July 1, 2017 at the Aroostook Medical Center in Presque Isle. She was born June 23, 1942, in Wade, the daughter of Leslie and Fern (Ambrose) Farley.
She worked as a cook at the Double Diamond on Parsons Street in Presque Isle and McCain Foods in Easton. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Presque Isle, and a member of the Mapleton Senior Citizens. Ruth enjoyed cooking and was a fantastic cook. Family was very important to her; she loved her children and grandchildren very much.
She is survived by two sons and their wives; Armand Louis and Beth LaCombe Jr. of Castle Hill, Douglas and Lisa LaCombe of Berwick, three daughters; Deborah Zwearcan of Washington, DC, Sherry Spaulding and her husband James of Windham, Theresa Denbow and her companion Daniel Albert of Castle Hill, three brothers; Carl Farley of Castle Hill, Robert Farley of Lewiston, Herman Farley of Ashland, three sisters; Rita Smith of PA, Charlotte Holmes of New Sweden, Vella Greenlaw of Mapleton, 15 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, three devoted sisters-in-law Lucille Nelson, “Frankie” Robinson, and Madeline Coffin. Ruth also left behind her beloved service dog “Molly”. She was predeceased by her husband Armand Louis LaCombe Sr., three siblings; Arlene Hull, Lloyd Langley, and Marjorie Langley, and two sons in law James Zwearcan and Wendell Denbow.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 8, 2017 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Parish of the Precious Blood. Interment was at Riverside Ext. Cemetery in Washburn. A celebration of life was held at the Mapleton Lions Hall at 2 p.m. following the interment.
