Easton seniors discuss RSVP

The Happy Days Senior Citizens’ Club met for a potluck lunch on June 22.  J.M. Huber Corp. generously donated a strawberry shortcake dessert for all members and guests attending.

Members present were: Annette Copeland, Julia Allen, Jean Ann Ames, Liana DeMerchant, Marie Hewitt, Jackie Condon, Paulette Garrison, Paul DeMerchant, Carrie Mason, Pat Fitzherbert and guests Kitty and Loomis Scott.

The guest speaker was Christine McPherson, volunteer coordinator for the local Retired Senior Volunteer Program. She spoke of the many programs available to seniors through the Aroostook Agency on Aging, as well as the need for senior volunteers in our communities.

The next meeting will be a potluck lunch at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 13, in the recreation room at the Manor. All seniors are welcome to join.

Community Library

On Saturdays the community library will be held at the Easton High School Library from 9:30 a.m. until noon and will feature a story time from 10-10:30 a.m., geared for toddlers/pre-K to gr. 3; children under 5 must be accompanied by an adult. Story time will include a picture book with an activity/color page to follow.

The library will be open to the community for patrons to utilize library services; book loans, use of periodicals and reference materials, Internet and computer access. Patrons may bring their own devices to access the Internet and will be asked to follow existing library rules/guidelines.
