PORTAGE LAKE, Maine — One hundred and thirty two golfers gathered at Portage Hills Country Club Wednesday, July 19, for the Upper St. John Valley Senior Golf Association’s fourth tournament of the summer.
The top three gross and net golfers in each of the six divisions of play are as follows:
Division A: first gross, Warren Walker, Va Jo Wa, 78; first net, Clay Halladay, Va Jo Wa, 71; second gross, Mike Fleming, Houlton, 78; second gross, Bert Roy, Fort Kent, 73; third gross, Gary Greene, Hartland, 79; and third net, Jean Dionne, Edmundston, 75.
Division B: first gross, Bruce Fitzpatrick, Caribou, 81; first net, Shawn Dolamont, Houlton, 71; second gross, Greg Cyr, Fort Kent, 83; second net, Jacques Bosse, Grand Falls, 73; third gross, Gilles Picard, Grand Falls, 84; and third net, Peter Curley, Hartland, 74.
Division C: first gross, Paul Roy, Hartland, 85; first net, Charles Fournier, Edmundston, 72; second gross, Alton Davenport, Mars Hill, 87; second net, Ron Arbeau, Hartland, 75; third gross, Carl Flora, Presque Isle, 88; and third net, Gerald Toner, Grand Falls, 75.
Division D: first gross, Mike Gew, Long Lake, 87; first net, William Nemer, Portage Hills, 73; second gross, Ron Grover, Portage Hills, 88; second net, Sonny Pelletier, Presque Isle, 75; third gross, Mike Beaulieu, Caribou, 92; and third net, Peter Haskell, Portage Hills, 75.
Division E: first gross, Eric Scott, Caribou, 91; first net, Ray Hews, Presque Isle, 72; second gross, George Findley, Mars Hill, 92; second net, Jeff Everett, Caribou, 74; third gross, Jon Langley, Caribou, 94; and third net, Gerrry Plourde, Long Lake, 75.
Division F: first gross, Jeff Heron, Caribou, 95; first net, Gary Gayne, Va Jo Wa, 71; second gross, Freeman Deabay, Portage Hills, 99; second net, John Bradley, Limestone, 74; third gross, Alan O’Neal, Limestone, 101; and third net, Ron Fournier, Portage Hills, 75.
Covered Bridge in Hartland, New Brunswick, will be the venue for the next tourney, set for Wednesday, Aug. 2. The summer tour will conclude with tourneys at Long Lake Country Club in St. David on Aug. 16 and at Fraser Edmundston Golf Club in Edmundston, New Brunswick, Aug. 30.
