PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — Holes-in-one were recorded within a week of each other recently at Presque Isle Country Club.
Elton Thibodeau of Presque Isle notched the first hole-in-one of the summer. He used a No. 4 hybrid on the 150-yard 17th hole to pull off the golf rarity Friday, July 14.
It was the third career ace for Thibodeau. Charles Violette, Dave Ross and Sonny Pelletier were the witnesses.
On Friday, July 21, during a practice round for the Coca-Cola Spudland Open, Richard Ambrose also notched a hole-in-one at the course. Ambrose, a member at Penobscot Valley Country Club in Orono, hit his shot on the 155-yard eighth hole, using an 8-iron.
Witnesses were Peter Hughes, Jim Connolly and Jerry Glidden.
