FOREST CITY, Maine — In 1996, a half dozen women who lived in Forest City decided to start a summer book club. The East Grand Dames have been meeting every summer since. They have now discussed well over 60 books while enjoying the fellowship of other women from the Chiputneticook region.
After the second gathering this summer at Barbara McGillicuddy Bolton’s Orient camp when
“The Dovekeepers” by Alice Hoffman was discussed, the women who attended posed for this photo.
The final meeting this summer will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 8. At this meeting the women will choose the books they will discuss in the summer of 2018. For information about attending, contact Barbara Bolton at mcgillbolt@yahoo.com or call her at 347-907-3615.
