CARIBOU, Maine — Cary Medical Center will be hosting the fifth annual Pink Aroostook Scramble golf tournament at Caribou Country Club on Saturday, Aug. 26, beginning at 9 a.m. In the event of rain, the tourney will be moved to Sunday, Aug. 27.

All proceeds from the scramble will benefit Pink Aroostook, a breast health program designed for support, advocacy, education and awareness of breast health issues in Aroostook County.  Pink Aroostook is funded by donations from individual and corporate donors and funds raised at this event will provide additional financial support county-wide for breast cancer survivors and advocacy initiatives.

To participate, teams of four must register by Thursday, Aug. 17, by calling the Caribou Country Club pro shop at 493-3933. The team registration fee is $100 and each participant must present a GHIN Handicap card. For participation, the minimum team handicap is 40.

Registered teams also can enter the Pink Aroostook Scramble Golf Cart Decorating Contest by simply decorating their golf carts for the event. The team with the winning golf cart will receive a $25 DOC gas card for each member of their four-person team.

Anyone interested in partnering with Pink Aroostook may become a hole sponsor, or pay tribute to a loved one’s memory or to someone who is bravely fighting cancer.  A $100 donation will sponsor a hole and the sponsor will receive a sponsorship sign at a hole.

Memorial/tribute signs can be purchased for $50. Those signs will be placed at a designated place near the clubhouse during the event and will include a message of the sponsor’s choice.

To become a hole or memorial sign sponsor, please contact Bethany Zell at 498-1361 or email her at bzell@carymed.org by Thursday, Aug. 17.
