CARIBOU, Maine — A dentist with ties to Caribou recently returned to Maine to practice dentistry.
Originally from Saco, Dr. Jacob Kieffer reported he is thrilled to come back to his home state to join the Center for Advanced Dentistry team in Auburn.
He graduated with distinction from the University of Maine in 2012. He is the son of Scott and Pam Kieffer, originally from Caribou. His grandparents are Leo and the late Patricia Keiffer, and Richard and Barbara Hebert, all of Caribou.
Kieffer earned his bachelor of science degree in biology. His desire to pursue a career in dentistry then led him to Halifax, Nova Scotia, where he completed his doctor of dental surgery (DDS) degree at Dalhousie University. Following graduation, he completed a one-year General Practice Residency at Dalhousie University in order to further his dental knowledge and expand his skill set, which enables him to provide his patients with a greater array of treatment options.
Kieffer said he enjoys all aspects of dentistry, but has a special interest in the surgical and prosthetic side, including dental implants, crowns, and bridges. He prioritizes continuing education by staying up to date with dental research and technology.
Aside from practicing dentistry, he enjoys many outdoor activities, as he spent the majority of his childhood growing up in Alaska. His main hobbies include cycling, skiing and golf. He also enjoys spending time with his friends and family in southern Maine.
