EUGENE HAROLD ALBRIGHT SR., NEW LIMERICK – Eugene Harold Albright Sr., of New Limerick, passed away August 4, 2017 at the age of 86. No services will be held as per the deceased’s wishes.
He was born July 10, 1931 in Houlton, the son of Frederick and Eltie Albright. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers Leroy Bubar, Ora Farrar, Frederick Farrar, Leslie Farrar, Charles Albright and Richard Albright as well as sisters Evelyn Farrar and Elizabeth (Farrar) McGrath and his second wife Marietta (Hoyt) Albright.
Eugene is survived by his son Eugene (Shirley) Albright Jr., of New Limerick, his daughter Sheila Sparks of Jacksonville, NB, Canada, his daughter Elizabeth Thibodeau of Ontario, Canada; sisters Iona (Farrar) Forbes of Madawaska and Alice (Albright) Hoyt of Glasgow, MT, granddaughters Dania Kennedy of Fredericton, NB, and Erica Sparks of Scottsdale, AZ, stepson Paul (Robynne) Hoyt of Houlton and great grandson Kaleb Sparks of Fredericton, NB.
Eugene attended local schools and on July 21, 1950, he joined the US Army where he served for three years. He was stationed in Korea where he was awarded the Korean Service medal with two bronze service stars, the United Nations service medal, the National Defense medal, and a Presidential Unit Citation.
He was a long haul trucker for 20 years, worked for Houlton Public Works for three years, then was a janitor at Ricker College until they closed down. In later years he worked for area farmers John Flemming, Fred Dow, and Millard Wright. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Interment will be held at Evergreen Cemetery, Houlton, at a later date.
