PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — The Mark and Emily Turner Memorial Library will host the second of two public visits with local writers on Wednesday, Aug. 16, from 6-8 p.m.
This event will feature four writers who will read from their work and be available for discussion and some book signing. Light refreshments from Cafe Sorpreso will be served.
On hand will be:
Orpheus Allison, a photojournalist, editor, teacher and writer. He has been published in a variety of newspapers, television programs and journals, and writes a column in the Star Herald called “Bug Guts and Beauty.”
Melissa Lizotte, an editor, journalist, poet and story writer. Her work has been published in the University Times, Upcountry, The Star Herald and Our Main Street’s Aroostook.
Jenny Radzma, professor of nursing at the University of Maine at Fort Kent. She takes Maine Writers and Publishers Alliance writing workshops and writes creative nonfiction.
Anthony Scott, a poet and English teacher at the University of Maine at Presque Isle. His work has appeared in Echoes, Upcountry, The Star Herald and The Write Life. He is also the author of a collection of poems, “The Year Things Came Apart.”
This event is free and open to the public. The library is located at 19 Second St.
