An hour-long outage occurred in Presque Isle early Wednesday after logging equipment came into contact with power lines, according to Emera Maine.
No injuries were reported and all safety mechanisms in place worked, however, there was some damage that crews had to repair, according to Bob Potts, a utility company spokesman.
First reports of the outage came in at 7:38 a.m. affecting 85 customers, including the Star-Herald offices on Missile Street. Power was restored to all customers by 9 a.m., Potts said.
“This is an important safety reminder for anyone operating heavy equipment to always be aware of overhead lines and the dangers that exist. Look up, look around, be safe,” he said.
