BANGOR AND CARIBOU, Maine – Jimmy P. Gardner, 60, died after a brief illness on August 7, 2017, in a Bangor hospital with his wife Beth and sister Theresa by his side. He was born October 28, 1956, in Caribou, the son of Clayton J. and Anita V. (Landeen) Gardiner. Jimmy attended Caribou High School, Class of 1975.

He married his wife, Beth Robinson of Caribou in 1990 and moved to Kodiak, Alaska, where they resided for ten years. Kodiak satisfied his great love for hunting, fishing and the outdoors. In 2000, Jimmy retired from Crescent Electric. He and his wife then moved to Bangor.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Beth (Robinson) Gardner, of Bangor, are his mother Anita V. Gardiner, of Madawaska Lake; sister Theresa Bragg and her husband, John, of Fort Myers Beach, Florida; their son Matthew Cary and wife Stacy and their three sons of Venice, Florida; and their daughter Abigail Bragg New and husband Adam of Orlando, Florida; his sister Karen Conroy and her husband Danny, of Caribou, their son Aaron Conroy and his wife Amanda of Presque Isle, and son Corey Conroy of Bangor; a brother Dean Gardiner of Madawaska Lake; and several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his lifelong friend, Jeff Cummings, of Perham. He was predeceased by his father Clayton Gardiner and his brother Clayton (Jack) Gardiner, Jr.
At Jimmy’s request, a private graveside service will be held at a later date in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, North Caribou.
