EXETER, New Hampshire — Judith Gentle Holdsworth was born in Houlton, Maine, on June 9, 1955. She passed away surrounded by family on August 7, 2017.
Judy’s life was deeply influenced by her faith in God. Her life revolved around her family, friends, music and laughter. The daughter of Warren and Joanne Gentle, she grew up in Littleton, Maine, along with her brother, Doug. Judy earned her nursing degree from the University of Southern Maine and spent her entire professional career in health care. Throughout her career, Judy was known for her kindness, intelligence, leadership and sense of humor. She was always willing to lend a hand, bend an ear, or share a light-hearted moment with her co-workers or patients.
Judy loved her family deeply. She raised three children with Chris Hayward and has three grandchildren. She instilled in all of them her “County” values and work ethic. She was a devoted wife who lived everyday in happiness while listening to music, sharing her oft-underrated sense of humor and infectious laugh.
Judy was predeceased by her brother, Doug Gentle. She is survived by her husband, Chuck Holdsworth; sons, Justin and Nathan Hayward; daughter, Allison Hayward Engelhardt; and her son-in-law, Dan Engelhardt. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Collin and Sylvia Hayward, and Petros Engelhardt; each of whom she loved deeply.
