LAPORTE, Indiana & PRESQUE ISLE, Maine – Roger Patrick Martin, 63, passed away July 28, 2017, after a brief battle with cancer.
Roger was born in Green River, New Brunswick, Canada, on January 23, 1954, to Hermas & Jacqueline (Dumond) Martin.
Surviving are his father, Hermas; his wife, Trish (Peary) Martin; his son, Eric P. (Shannon) Martin, of LaPorte; his brother, Marc (Cheryl) Martin, and sister, Gloria Davenport, of Maine; his granddaughters, Cheyenne, Amanda and Aabee; 1 great-granddaughter, Nayvi; many nieces and nephews as well as other loving family members.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Jacqueline, and siblings Herman Martin, Kathy Vaughn & Alice Raber.
Roger was a US Marine Corp veteran. He worked most of his life as a lumberjack. He enjoyed nature, loved to cook and eat, loved westerns and Civil War history and enjoyed visiting with family and friends. Roger never met a stranger.
A Celebration of Life Memorial will be held Sunday, August 20th, from 2 PM to 5 PM, at the Elks Lodge in Presque Isle for family and friends to come together and share their memories.
Roger will be interred at the Caribou Veterans Cemetery at a future date.
