The third annual Jarret “Jerry” McLaughlin Memorial Scramble was played Saturday, July 22 at Caribou Country Club. McLaughlin was an avid golfer who loved helping kids, and in particular, those who were passionate about the sport of golf. When the longtime member of CCC passed away, his family initiated the tournament and established two annual $500 scholarships to graduating seniors who are members of the golfing community, either with the varsity golf team or within the CCC family of golfers. Connor Plourde of Caribou, a 2017 graduate of Caribou High School, is one of this year’s recipients. He plans to attend Northern Maine Community College where he will study business.
