Thirty-six boys and girls from elementary schools in Caribou, Woodland, New Sweden and Connor received new bikes to start the summer, thanks to the Caribou Masonic Lodge.
The lodge sponsored its sixth Bikes for Books program, during which children read books to earn chances to win a bike. Lodge Master Ralph Conroy said members always look forward to the fundraiser, and though they raise much of the funds themselves, businesses from around the greater Caribou area also contribute. Winners from Hilltop Elementary included, from left, Cody Neece and Austin Bourgoin, grade 1; Connor Cormier, Finn Broad and Gracie Dubois, grade 2; and Keira Doody, grade 1. In back are Masons David Spooner, Ralph Conroy, Jody Smith and Greg Belanger. Winners absent from photo are Elyza Landeen, grade 1, and Callie Boucher, grade 2.
