The Club Championship / Presidents Cup tournament was contested this past weekend. After the first 18 holes three contenders were three shots apart. In Sunday’s round, youth prevailed as Porter Gervais defeated first day leader Jerry York for the victory.
The Ladies Champion was Misty Marino, while her son Drew Marino was crowned youth champion for 2017. In the B division, the winner was Mark Anderson and C division went to Gary Severson. In the Presidents Cup competition, Bill Dwyer is the winner. Pam Mailman won the Ladies Cup.
Junior Club Champion is Drew Marino, Club Champion is Porter Gervais, and Ladies Club Champion is Misty Marino.
Coming Labor Day weekend is the Babe Caron Memorial tournament. As of Monday, the field was full, but we are accepting teams as alternates in case of withdrawals.
On Sept. 10, we will have our annual Cross Country Par 3 tournament. This is a nine-hole, four person team scramble format. This year we are teaming with Project Grad to raise funds. Rumor has it that a few new holes are being designed for your pleasure. Call the clubhouse for more info and to sign up your team.
The Lakeside Restaurant will be celebrating the Babe Caron Memorial Friday night with delicious food and entertainment by Paul LaPointe. Paul will be there with all his charm and happy sing along songs from the past. Call Nancy at 694-9494 for dinner reservations. And don’t forget, we are open Wednesday thru Saturday for lunch and our excellent Brunch on Sunday. It’s just a short drive from town for a beautiful casual setting.
Suddenly it seems like time is ticking down rapidly to the end of summer so grab your clubs and come play a round. We’ll see you on the course.
