The Island Falls Senior Citizens group met Thursday, Aug. 17 at the municipal building for good food, good music and good fellowship. Our potluck luncheon was, as usual, delicious with a large variety of dishes.
We were entertained before and after lunch by Vera Scott on our newly tuned piano. Scott played an assortment of “oldies” with some of the older hymns mixed in. It truly was a pleasurable experience for all of us present.
Our business meeting was opened with the Lord’s prayer and Flag salute by President Rich Camire. Secretary and Treasurer reports were given and adopted into the records. As there was minimal business to be discussed, we adjourned and played Bingo with Sherry Hartin as the big winner of the day.
Members present were Glady Corneal, Dick Shean, Patti Butler, Mary Pipes, Mary Lawler, Gloria Noyes, Edith Dwyer, Barney and Marci Coursey. Darrell and Sherry Hartin, Louise Butcher, Rich Camire, Keith and Esther Harvey, Ellie Peck, Jeanne Clements, Terry Dwyer and guest Vera Scott.
Our next meeting will occur on Sept. 7, and we will play the bag game. We always welcome new members.
