PATRICE ‘PATTY’ B. WOTTON, MONTICELLO – Patrice “Patty” B. Wotton, 94, passed away Wednesday, August 30, 2017, at a Houlton hospital, with her family by her side. She was born September 23, 1922, in Houlton, the daughter of Vere and Harriet (Stevens) Bean.
Patty grew up in Monticello and attended Monticello schools, graduating from Ricker Classical Institute in Houlton. She was a hard worker and worked for her father for many years on the family farm. She also worked at Vahlsings, housekeeping at the Northland Hotel, and for Bartlett Farms. Patty enjoyed knitting, reading, snow sledding, skiing, going to the family camp at Bell Brook and camping at St. Croix. Her life centered around her family and she treasured all the time they had together. She will be remembered as a wonderful and loving mother, grandmother, and aunt with too many friends to count.
She leaves behind her three children, Michael Hogan and his wife, Linda, Mary Faulkner and her husband, Merlyn, and Harold Hoyt and his significant other, Debbie McCarthy, all of Monticello; a stepdaughter, Bevely Harvey of Monticello; nine grandchildren, Max, Travis, Marcia, Michele, Marlon, Melody, Kia, Tom, and Richie; sixteen great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews; as well as a special niece and caregiver, Shelley Taylor of Monticello. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two husbands, Linwood Hoyt and Maurice Wotton; two brothers, Philip and Steve Bean; and two stepsons, Earl and Garth Wotton.
A graveside service will be conducted 2 p.m. Friday, September 1, 2017, at Jewell Cemetery, Monticello, with the Rev. Jason Rooney officiating.
