CMS soccer teams in action

The Caribou Middle School girls and boys soccer teams played a pair of league games last week and are getting set to wrap up their season soon.

The CMS boys played to a 1-1 draw with Houlton Monday, Sept. 11, with Jude Shea scoring off an Ari Plante assist in the second half for Caribou’s goal. Alex Belanger was strong in goal and both Mason St. Peter and Jacob Walton had solid outings.

On Thursday, Sept. 14, Shea’s goal with 20 minutes left lifted the Vikings past Presque Isle White, 1-0. Michael Brigman had a strong game in goal for Caribou and defenders Alden Wilcox, Ryan Austin, Alex Levesque and Elliot Sleeper performed well throughout.

The CMS girls dropped an 8-1 decision to Houlton Monday, Sept. 11, with Ashlyn Bouchard scoring off a Hannah Beauchamp assist for the lone Viking goal. Marienna St. Peter, Abbie McNeal, Mia Theriault and Beauchamp were credited with having strong games for Caribou.

Caribou led in the second half but Presque Isle White came back with two unanswered goals for the 3-2 victory Thursday, Sept. 14. Hannah Beauchamp scored both goals for the Vikings, with St. Peter assisting on the second one. Libby Collier made six saves on nine shots and Selena Savage and Theriault were standouts with their midfield play.
