Linda Lee (Parks) Sullivan

CARIBOU, Maine – Linda Lee (Parks) Sullivan of Caribou, Maine went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, September 13th, 2017 after a long illness.

Linda was born to the late Wallace and Viola Parks, in Caribou, Maine on February 1st, 1944. She was blessed to be part of a large and loving family. Linda was the twenty-first child and was fondly known as “the baby” of her family. She graduated from Caribou High school in 1962, and worked in the insurance business for many years. She married her loving and faithful husband, Gerald R. Sullivan, on February 22, 1964, in Caribou, ME. Together they raised two girls Karen and Janet. When her husband became self-employed in the floor covering business, Linda supported him in the operation. Later in her life, Linda was blessed with four grandchildren who brought great joy to her life.
Linda was an active member of the Caribou Assembly of God Church where she served as the church organist for over thirty years, Sunday school teacher, and was active in the Women’s Ministries group. She loved to sing and at the age of 4 was a featured singer on the Pentecostal Sunbeams radio program. Linda continued her love of singing in her church as a soloist, church choir member, and along side her husband Gerald for many years. She had a talent of being able to play both the piano and organ by ear, and loved gathering around the piano with her Parks family for a good old fashion gospel sing-a-long.
She is survived by her devoted husband and caregiver Gerald Sullivan; daughter Karen Chapman and her husband Rick of Mapleton; daughter Janet Lully and her husband Kevin of South China; four precious grandchildren, Caleb, Lauren, Jenna and Madison; three sisters, Lana Wilcox and her husband Boyd, Gail Michaud and Wanda Boozer; several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents Wallace and Viola Parks, she is preceded in death by her brother; Vaughn Parks, and sisters; Agnes Starks, Juanita Whitaker, Glenna Fowler, Vada Walton, Donna Christensen and Verlie Spooner.
Gerald and the girls would like to thank all the family, and friends who have loved and cared for Linda over the past several years, we are grateful to each and every one of you. To all the health care providers and health care workers that cared for Linda over the years, we appreciate your work and the personal care you provided.
