LIMESTONE, Maine — The Loring Development Authority recently recognized former Chairman of the Board Richard Ezzy of Caribou for his service.
Miles Williams, the new chairman, publicly thanked Ezzy during the board’s Sept. 20 meeting for his service, and LDA President and CEO Carl Flora presented him a framed photo of the former Loring Air Force base with a rainbow.
Flora read the inscription below the photo, which stated the award was in recognition of Ezzy’s “leadership and dedicated service to the Loring Development Authority as Chair of the Board of Trustees,” from 2014 to 2017, and lauded his efforts to “build a stronger, better economy for the people of Aroostook County.”
Board members and guests applauded as Ezzy received the award.
“It was an easy board to chair,” Ezzy said after receiving the presentation, “so I want to thank all of you for supporting me the last few years, and I look forward to continuing as a regular member.”
“Just so you know, the chair is the one who always gets the phone calls if something has gone wrong or if trouble is afoot,” Flora said. “Rich has always been there for me, and I appreciate that.”
