HOULTON, Maine — The Regional Creative Council (RCC) will hold a special session to get “Just The Facts!” on surveys for the Cultural Plan for the Tri-County Region of southern Aroostook, northern Penobscot and northern Washington counties.
After several months of surveys and data collection, the preliminary findings will be shared at a session to be held Wednesday, Sept. 27, at 6 p.m. at the Houlton Higher Education Center. All interested in the process of developing the Cultural Plan are encouraged to attend.
The session will be led by Saskia Reinholt of Reinholt Consulting, the organization hired to guide the RCC through the cultural planning process. Saskia Reinholt and her partner Emily Reinholt, will review the data findings from the Public Opinion Surveys.
This will be an interactive session with those present participating in the review and discussion. Input will be gathered to improve the goals and objectives recommendations and to determine the next steps.
The RCC was started with a collaborative effort of the Southern Aroostook Cultural Arts Project, Cary Library, Houlton Community Arts Center Council, Houlton Higher Education Center and Houlton’s Community Development Department.
The group secured three grants totaling $30,000 for the development of the cultural plan and to hire the consultant to facilitate the process. Grants totaling $10,000 each were awarded by the Maine Arts Commission, Maine Community Foundation and the Betterment Fund.
