SYRACUSE, NY – Barbara K. Jamieson, 97, of Syracuse, NY, passed away peacefully Wednesday, September 13, 2017.
Born in Presque Isle, Maine, Barbara moved to Syracuse, NY in 1983. “BJ” was a dedicated and faithful employee to all she worked with until the age of 83. Her amazing work ethic and personality is what made her special to her family, friends, and customers. Barbara loved sports and was an avid fan of the Red Sox, Patriots, and Celtics but most loved the Syracuse Orange. Her nightly calls of “what channel is the game on” will be missed by all. Barbara was an amazing caregiver to all who crossed her path. Her concern and care for her family is something that will always be remembered. She was predeceased by her husband, Donald C. Jamieson; her parents, Donald and Lucy Kilpatrick; and her brothers, Donald Kilpatrick Jr., Phillip Kilpatrick and Carl Kilpatrick.
She leaves behind her sister, Mary Jane Hussey (Gorham); her daughter, Elizabeth Jamieson Taetsch; grandsons, Eric Taetsch (Elise) and Adam Taetsch (Stephanie); granddaughter, Meghan Kise (Brian); and seven amazing great-grandchildren whom she adored, Jackson, Greyson, Emerson, Taylor, Owen, Logan and Ella. Also surviving is her son-in-law, Edwin Taetsch; her good friend, Sharon VanStry; and several nieces and nephews.
Barbara lived her life to the fullest and always gave much more than she received. “To live in the hearts, we leave behind is not to die.” -Thomas Campbell.
A memorial service will be held in Presque Isle, Maine, on October 7, 2017 at 3 p.m. at the Congregational Church. Interment took place in Johnson Cemetery, Presque Isle, Maine.
