RICHARD D. WILMOT, HOULTON – Richard D. Wilmot, 68, passed away at home with his family by his side on September 15, 2017. He was born July 19, 1949 in Island Falls, the son of Clair and Joyce (Gardner) Wilmot.
Richard was employed by Bangor & Aroostook Railroad. He also devoted significant time to his gun shop at home. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, spending many evenings during his lifetime on Mattawamkeag Lake.
He was a Vietnam veteran of the U.S. Army, serving from 1967-1970.
He is survived by his wife, Susan Wilmot of Houlton; son John Wilmot and his significant other, Heather and her children, Lexi and Bryan of Carmel; son Jim Wilmot and his significant other, Kara and her son, Devin of Holden; a granddaughter, Katie Wilmot of Houlton; a sister, Carol Swallow of Oakfield; brothers Brian and Connie Wilmot of Tucson, AZ, Steven Wilmot and Mary of New Sweden; numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and a brother, Mark Wilmot.
Funeral services were held 10 a.m. on Friday, September 22nd at the Oakfield Baptist Church, 72 Ridge Road, Oakfield, with Rev. David Fox officiating.
