NEW LONDON, New Hampshire — This fall, Colby-Sawyer welcomed 294 first-year and transfer students from 18 states and seven countries, including Katelyn Stevens of Island Falls. Stevens’s is majoring in biology.

The Class of 2021 began college with an average high school grade point average (GPA) of 3.37, a slight increase over last year’s incoming class and higher than the nation’s 3.0 average. More than a third of the class earned a high school GPA of 3.5 or better.

Seventeen of the 294 new students are transfers from other institutions, including community colleges in the state. An articulation agreement between Colby-Sawyer and Lakes Region Community College (LRCC) in Laconia, New Hampshire Technical Institute (NHTI) in Concord, River Valley Community College (RVCC) in Claremont, and White Mountain Community College in Berlin, enables qualified graduates to finish their undergraduate studies at Colby-Sawyer.
