Members of the Sherman Area Senior Citizens began our recent meeting with the Lord’s Prayer and flag salute.
Members present were Annie Atkinson, Donna Grass, Margaret Cullins, John and Mary Willett, Kenny and Mary Warman, Esther Greenier, Earl Cummings and Pam Churchill. Special guests Paul and Miriam Partridge from Florida.
The group enjoyed a potluck dinner. After dinner we all had a good time talking about the good old days and what we did as kids.
Paul is from the Stacyville area, and went to school with or graduated with many of the people at the meeting. It brought back a lot of good memories, and made us wonder: With all these games and computers and phones, what have kids got to look back on? You don’t see them outside and there’s no family time.
Paul flew back to Florida to board his house up before the hurricane hit. They had little damage to their brick house, but a lot of trees down. Some people weren’t so lucky. They had a generator and still had power.
The group’s next meeting will be Oct. 4, when we will play Bingo and decide on our fall foliage outing.
The winner of the Temptation Dishes was Angie Stubbs of Bangor.
