HODGDON, Maine — Two people escaped injury Monday when a loaded log truck collided with a potato harvester.
Michael Hagan. 63, of Houlton was driving his 1992 John Deere tractor and pulling a 2006 Lockwood potato harvester at about 11 a.m. on the Walker Road when the accident happened, according to Maine State Police Cpl. Dennis Quint.
Charles Brown, 45, of Princeton was heading north on the roadway in his 2000 Western Star tractor trailer, loaded with logs, when he encountered the tractor and harvester, Quint said in a press release issued Monday afternoon.
As the two vehicles met, the log truck and harvester collided, causing significant damage to the harvester, the corporal reported. There was no damage to the log truck trailer beyond paint transfer, Quint said.
The Maine State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Unit was contacted due to other issues related to the log truck. Quint gave no indication in the release whether any charges were anticipated.
He said neither driver suffered any injuries in the crash.
