The Oakfield Seniors Club gathered at the Smoki-Haulers Snowmobile Club for its first meeting in October. After the delicious potluck luncheon, the business meeting was called to order by President Robert Locke.

George Barrow was the lucky 50/50 winner this week. All of the usual reports were read and accepted. October birthdays were recognized.

Christine McPherson our RSVP coordinator from the Agency on Aging in Presque Isle was guest speaker with lots of info to bring us up to date with all that is going on in this area. She reported that the Agency’s new director, Joy Barressi-Saucier, started work on Oct. 1.

Workers are needed at this time to be Friendly Visitors, working at Thrift shops and also at the Christmas Craft Fair on Thanksgiving weekend Nov 24-25. If you would like to volunteer at any of these activities please get in touch with Christine at the Agency in Presque Isle.

Attending were: Marie Gillotti, Arlene Friel, Bob and Delores Locke, Verna Boone, Mildred Gagnon, Don and Charlotte Marley, Iona Nadeau, Bernice Campbell, George Barrow, Wannetta Townsend, Earl and Lottie Doughty and guests Christine McPherson, Carissa Silvestri and Bonnie Pratt.

The next meeting will be on Wednesday, Oct. 18. Come in Halloween Costume if you wish.
