Maine State Police responded to the Katahdin Elementary School in Stacyville Thursday after school officials reported a bomb threat just before the afternoon dismissal of students.
The students were released on time and no classes were disrupted, according to a press release issued Thursday evening by Cpl. Chuck Michaud of the state police.
School officials, troopers and a state police explosives detection dog checked the school and found no evidence of any type of explosives or harmful devices.
Michaud said that no more information would be released about how the threat was made or what it was “in order to preserve the integrity of the investigation.”
