The Easton PTO will hold the annual Harvest Party for grades Pre-K-6 on Saturday, Oct. 28, from 2 to 4 p.m. This will be immediately followed by the Easton Wesleyan Church’s Trunk or Treat at 4 pm for those who choose to attend.
Admission for the Harvest Party will be a non-perishable item for the Friends Helping Friends Food Pantry. Notes will go home with students prior to the event. Small toys (Happy Meal size) are always welcome to use as prizes.
The PTO will host a Christmas Bazaar in December and is seeking donations of new and gently used items, as well as gift bags and tissue paper for any occasion. Donations can be given to a PTO member or left at the elementary school office during school hours.

Fall Clean-Up Day
The Town of Easton will provide a collection point at the town garage on the Fry Pan Road for household junk, such as appliances, tires, furniture and wood, on Saturday, Oct. 21.
Wood products must be separated. No household garbage, used oil or commercial loads will be accepted.
There will also be a collection point next to the recycling igloos behind the town office to dispose of electronics such as televisions, computers, monitors, printers, fluorescent bulbs, circuit boards, cell phones, fax machines, scanners, laptops, DVD/VCR players, batteries and copiers. All recyclables must be deposited in the igloos.
Fall Pick-Up Day is for Easton residents only. Coordinate your fall cleaning with this event and make use of our efforts to make Easton a more beautiful place to live.

Trunk or Treat
On Saturday, Oct. 28, the Easton Wesleyan Church will host a Trunk or Treat from 4 to 6 p.m. on Center Road. There will also be games and prizes.

Local election
Easton residents will have the opportunity to vote on the following two referendum questions, along with a State Referendum ballot, on November 7, 2017, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Easton Town Office, 3 Station Rd.
Shall the Town of Easton approve the enactment of an ordinance prohibiting retail marijuana establishments and retail marijuana social clubs?
Shall the Town of Easton approve the enactment of an ordinance establishing a School Budget Committee pursuant to 30-A M.R.S.A. Section 3001?
Copies of the ordinances will be available at the Easton Town Office for review.
Veterans’ Day Assembly
The annual Veterans’ Day assembly will be held at the Easton Elementary School on Wednesday, Nov. 8. Breakfast will be served for the veterans at 8:30 a.m., followed by a program for the general public at 9:15.

Library Schedule
On Saturdays the community library will be held at the Easton High School Library from 9:30 a.m. until noon and will feature a story time from 10 to 10:30, geared for toddlers/pre-Kindergarten to grade 3. Children under 5 must be accompanied by an adult.
The library will be open to the community for patrons to utilize library services; book loans, use of periodicals and reference materials, Internet and computer access. Patrons may bring their own devices to access the Internet and will be asked to follow existing library rules/guidelines.
