THOMPSON’S STATION, Tennessee — The Readers’ Favorite 2017 International Book Award Contest has recognized “Wheels of Wisdom” by Tim and Debbie Bishop as the gold medal recipient in the Christian-Devotion/Study category.
The Readers’ Favorite International Book Award Contest featured thousands of contestants in over 140 categories from more than a dozen countries, ranging from new independent authors to New York Times best-sellers and celebrities. Past winners include J.A. Jance, James Rollins, Daniel Silva, Jim Carrey, Eriq La Salle and Henry Winkler, with submissions from Random House, HarperCollins and Simon & Schuster.
Released in 2016, “Wheels of Wisdom: Life Lessons for the Restless Spirit” is a seeker’s devotional based on the Bishops’ bicycling adventures across America. Along the way, the Bishops reflect on adopting the right mindset, overcoming obstacles and relishing life’s journey.
“I was so excited when I saw ‘Wheels of Wisdom’ on the contest website among the five books recognized in its category,” Debbie Bishop said. “When I looked closer, I noticed it had a gold medal below the cover. I was amazed and grateful that the judges selected our book for such an honor.”
“When ‘Wheels of Wisdom’ won the National Indie Excellence Award for inspiration back in May, we were encouraged,” Tim Bishop said. “But the Readers’ Favorite program is larger. It offers more marketing advantages, including an awards ceremony in Miami, where Readers’ Favorite will be displaying our title at the Miami Book Festival. We’re thankful for our many contributors, who share in this award.”
Readers’ Favorite is one of the largest book review and award contest sites on the Internet. It has earned the respect of renowned publishers and has received the “Best Websites for Authors” and “Honoring Excellence” awards from the Association of Independent Authors. Readers’ Favorite is also fully accredited by the BBB (A+ rating), which is a rarity among Book Review and Book Award Contest companies.
Under the Readers’ Favorite contest, books earn scores that qualify them for award levels. Thus, not all categories acknowledge gold medalists. “Wheels of Wisdom” was the only book in the Christian-Devotion/Study category to receive a gold medal.
