Job Corps names next Star Student

LIMESTONE, Maine — Officials at the Loring Job Corps Center recently announced Jefferson Tran as the latest Star Student at the facility.

Tran, 22, came to Loring Job Corps in June from Dorchester, Mass., and since his arrival has worked to achieve great strides in both his personal and professional goals.

“Jefferson is a determined and motivated young man who has chosen to take advantage of the opportunity to take the CISCO Systems cable and networking trade,” said Roger Felix, Loring Job Corps business and community liaison, “and everyone who has had the opportunity to meet him knows that once he earns his credentials here at Loring that he will continue his training and education to enhance his career.”

Tran serves as a positive role model for peers and helps support fellow students through mentoring others in their academic needs, Felix said.

Tran said there is something he wants everything to know:  “It is never too late to learn something new.”
