HOULTON, Maine — Preserving the harvest will be the focus of a University of Maine Cooperative Extension workshop Saturday, Oct. 28, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., at Houlton Regional Hospital, 20 Hartford St., Houlton.
Taught by UMaine Extension food preservation staff, the hands-on workshop uses recommended preservation methods for garden produce, including water bath and pressure canning, freezing and drying. Participants should bring a bag lunch.
The $25 fee includes fresh produce and canning jars.
