ASHLAND, Maine – Ellen A. Boulier, 75, died peacefully Friday, October 27, 2017, at a Mars Hill healthcare facility. She was born January 3, 1942, in Ashland, a daughter of the late Andrew and Cecile (O’Clair) Poitraw.
Ellen worked for several Presque Isle area shoe shops for almost 25 years before working as a transcriptionist with The Aroostook Medical Center. She also worked several years in the office of Ashland District School. Born, raised, and a life-long resident of the Sheridan area of Ashland, she delighted in tending her flower gardens around the house, busying herself with crochet, or riding the many wood roads all over the North Woods. Ellen also loved fishing, and especially enjoyed braving Maine’s cold winters to ice fish.
She is survived by her son, Larry M. Boulier of Ashland; a brother, Roland Poitraw and his wife, Jean of Ashland; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 34 years, Larry V. Boulier, in 2002, two sisters, Clairette Hebert and Dorothy Poitraw, and a brother, John Poitraw.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Thursday, November 2, 2017, at St. Marks Catholic Church, Allen Farm Rd., Ashland. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
