The next scheduled Chapman Ridge Runners Snowmobile Club event is the directors’ November meeting, which will be held tonight, Nov. 1, at 6:30 p.m. at the clubhouse, 94 Town Hall Rd.,, Chapman.
Remember, this Saturday, Nov. 4, the club will host its annual landowner turkey supper for members and invited landowners. This supper is a special appreciation dinner to thank the landowners for allowing snowmobile trails to cross their property.
The supper is free for invited landowners and all members with a paid 2017-18 membership.
Please RSVP to Sue Maynard at 764-1236, and also let her know if you can help with food for the supper.
Town business
Absentee ballots are available now for the Nov. 7 election.
All absentee ballot requests must be received by the town office by the close of business on Thursday, Nov. 2, unless special circumstances exist.
First Friday Luncheon
The Mapleton United Methodist Church will hold its regular First Friday Luncheon on Nov. 3 at 11:30 a.m., and it will be the Thanksgiving luncheon.
The menu will include hot meat loaf and a baked potato bar with all the fixings. Come on out while the weather is good. Everyone is invited to attend.
If you have missed these luncheons, please plan to attend as they are excellent times to meet friends and neighbors you may not see too often. With cold weather coming upon us, it will be good to get out and see folks before weather conditions slow us down for the winter.
There is no charge for the lunch but donations are accepted.
Senior meetings resume
The Mapleton-Chapman-Castle Hill Seniors Club will begin their 2017-18 twice-monthly meetings on Monday, Nov. 6, at 11:30 a.m.
The first meeting will be a special pancake luncheon. After lunch, Bingo will be the special activity of day.
Regular potluck luncheons begin with the Nov. 20 luncheon at 11:30 a.m. at the Mapleton United Methodist Church. All seniors in the tri-town area are invited to participate in the regular luncheons that are scheduled for the first and third Mondays of each month through June 2018.
