Cary Medical Center recently completed its first four-week Cooking Matters class, offered in partnership with its SIruno Stroke Prevention Program and the Maine SNAP-ED Program. The free four-week class focused on healthy cooking on a budget. Here, SNAP-ED instructor Heather McGuire (standing) works with participants Lula McCrossin, Doreen McCarthy and Leona Chassie to prepare vegetables for a meal the class prepared. The next class has already begun in Limestone. For information on future classes, contact Nancy Holmquist at Cary Community Relations, 498-1272.
