CMS boys take opener

MARS HILL, Maine — The Caribou Middle School eighth-grade boys’ basketball team began its season Nov. 8 with a 61-27 road victory over Central Aroostook.

The game showcased Caribou’s strong running game and defense. The Vikings never trailed in the contest and featured a balanced scoring attack.

Michael Brigman led the Vikings with 16 points, while Braydon Willette, Nick Lizotte and Reece Cavagnaro scored eight apiece. Alex Levesque added seven and Ryan Austin and Ari Plante chipped in with six each.

Griffen McNeal rebounded well for coach Steve Perreault’s Caribou squad.
