The Penobscot Valley Conference’s all-conference and all-academic teams for the fall sports season include several athletes from Caribou, Houlton and Presque Isle.
In Class B girls’ soccer, Presque Isle’s Madison Michaud and Savannah Rodriguez and Caribou’s Searra Herbert and Hope Shea made the first team. Also named to the team are Alex Allain and Emma Allmon, both of Hermon; Daisy Granholm of MDI; Tia Zephyr of John Bapst; Kiona Osterlin of Ellsworth; Olivia Wesley of Foxcroft Academy; and Olivia Damboise of Old Town.
Emily Wheaton of Presque Isle and Ashley Matlock and Gabrielle Marquis, both of Caribou, were voted to the second team. Other selections were Eilidh Sidaway, Grace Phillipon and Kayla Massey, all of John Bapst; Sage Phillips of Old Town; Olivia Nash of Hermon; Jenna Clukey and Kiara Prescott, both of Foxcroft Academy; and Adrianna Novella of MDI.
Caribou coach Todd Albert came away with Coach of the Year honors and Hermon’s Allain was named Player of the Year.
The Class C girls’ soccer first team consists of Houlton players Kolleen Bouchard, Tyra Gentle and Mia Hanning. They are joined by Bess McArther of George Stevens Academy; Hannah Dorman and Danielle Cummings, both of Dexter; Cymeria Robshaw of Penquis; Sydney Allen of Central; Becca Gallandt and Izzy Henderson, both of Orono; and Erin Speed of PCHS.
Tessa Solomon and Aspen Flewelling of the Shires made the second team along with Camryn Rolfe and Kelsey Robinson, both of Penquis; Lindsey Dodge of Lee; Grace Francis and Madi Speed, both of Central; Julianna Allen of George Stevens Academy; Mille Baarvedt of Orono; Avery Herrick of Dexter; and Lanie Perry of Narraguagus.
Claire Gilpatrick and Alexis Miller represent Houlton on the third team and teammate Sierra Hoops garnered honorable mention.
The Shires’ Kolleen Bouchard was named Player of the Year and Dexter’s Jody Grant was the Coach of the Year.
For Class B boys, Griffin Guerrette and Randon Mortland of Presque Isle and Alex Ezzy of Caribou garnered first-team honors along with Isaac Varney and James Peterson, both of Hermon; Jacob Harrison of Old Town; Levi Stedman of Foxcroft; Milan Filipovich and Dionne Millett, both of Washington Academy; Owen Mild of MDI; and Jared Hamilton of Ellsworth.
The second team consists of Jason Dumais and Jonah Hudson, both of Presque Isle; and Nic Sleeper of Caribou. Also named to the second team are Khatri Heyward of Washington Academy; Kaleb Cianchette and Tyler Hawes, both of Hermon; Jack Lee of Ellsworth; Jose Chumbe of MDI; Brady Chadwick of John Bapst; Josh Reed of Foxcroft;and Liang-Kang Lin of Old Town.
Presque Isle’s Adam Paterson was among those receiving honorable mention.
Joe Greaves of Presque Isle was the Coach of the Year and the boys’ Player of the Year was Hermon’s Peterson.
Pat Howe of Houlton made the Class C boys’ soccer first team. Others on the team are Corbett Arnold of Mattanawcook Academy; Taylor Schildroth of George Stevens Academy; Matt Richards of Dexter; Yarech Mamo of Lee; Yosef Worster of Central; Bryce Gilbert of PCHS; Tanner Stegner of Bucksport; JJ Astiman and Evan Kinetic, both of Orono; and Orlando Herrera of Sumner.
Nick Perfitt of the Shires made the second team along with Alec Witham, Ben Cole and Owen Vinal, all of George Stevens Academy; Dillon Drew of PCHS; Ben Allarahill and Ben Wilson-McFarlane, both of Orono; Damon Warren of Sumner; Micah Ward of Central; Bud Sathtachotinum of Dexter; and John Farrington of Mattanawcook Academy.
Keegan Gentle of Houlton made the third team and Abe Lorom, also of the Shires, earned honorable mention.
Gilbert of PCHS was named Player of the Year and Andrew Bermudez of Dexter was the Coach of the Year.
Conference officials also picked for the All-Academic team Presque Isle’s Christina Skidgel and Caribou’s Matlock, Marquis, Shea, Meagan Dube, Jessica Limary, Danielle Hanson and Kaytlin Waldemarson. For Houlton, Gentle, Hanning, Anessa Wilde, Bouchard, Flewelling, Rebecca Mooers and Carolyn Mooers made the squad.
Making it for the Caribou boys were Sleeper, Trevor Hale and Liam McMillon and representing Houlton were Perfitt, Lorom, Tim Youngfellow, Zachary Fitzpatrick and Dawson McLaughlin.
Cross country runners gaining Class B first-team all-conference girls’ honors were Caribou’s Emily Austin, Sarae Greenier, Ashley Violette and Abigail Wimmer. Others honored were Caitlin McPherson and Trinity Montigny, both of Ellsworth, and Katelyn Osborne of MDI.
Isabelle Jackson and Madison Jandreau, both of Presque Isle, and Caribou’s Kacie Haney made the second team along with Louise Chaplin of MDI, Abby Mazgaj of Ellsworth, Audree O’Meara of Old Town and Jamie Sidaway of John Bapst.
Caribou’s Maren Moir and Katrina Salch both earned honorable mention.
The Vikings’ Wimmer was named Runner of the Year and her coach, Thomas Beckum, received Coach of the Year recognition.
On the boys’ side, Caribou’s Kyle Boucher, Evan Desmond and Dylan Marrero all were first-team honorees along with Presque Isle’s Max Bartley. Others on the first team were Matyas Nactigall of Washington Academy, Nicholas Reznick of MDI and Braedon Stevens of Hermon.
No local runners were selected to the second team, but Jonah Clark and Trace Cyr, both of Presque Isle, received honorable mentions.
Caribou’s Marrero was the Runner of the Year and Desiree Sirois of MDI was selected as Coach of the Year.
For Class C girls and boys, Emmalyne Drake and Jeremy Cook, both of Houlton, received honorable mentions.
Making the All-Academic girls’ cross country team were Caribou’s Anya O’Meara, Ciara Richards and Rachel Ring and Presque Isle’s Olivia Mosher. For boys, Caribou’s Desmond, Calvin Mokler and Camden Dumond and Presque Isle’s Bartley made the All-Academic squad.
In golf, Carlisle’s Libby Boone made the All-PVC golf team and teammates Gabe Rand and Seth Roy made the Class A boys team.
Making it for Class C boys were Houlton’s Drew Marino, Wyatt Harvey and Nick Brewer.
