LOIS MCKAY TRACY HISCOE SMYRNA – Lois McKay Tracy Hiscoe, 86, of Smyrna passed away unexpectedly on Nov. 7, 2017, in Houlton. She was born July 3, 1931, in St. John, NB, Canada, and raised by her adoptive parents, Harry and Margaret (Jones) McKay.
She was employed in the food service industry in several local restaurants and ultimately retiring from the State of New Hampshire Human Resources Department after 16 years of service. She retired to the Smyrna area and established her retirement home and renewed many old friendships. Late in life, Lois had the opportunity to connect with her birth mother and formed a relationship with her and her extended family in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia.
She is survived by two daughters, Carol Tracy Romano of NH and Florida, and Debra Tracy Mehefko of Texas; granddaughters, Elizabeth Romano of Atlanta and Tracy Romano Bissonnette of South Portland, a grandson, Zachary Mehefko of Allentown. PA; great-grandchildren, Iris Mehefko, Noah and Mallory Bissonnette. She will be sadly missed by her best friends, Fran Hutchinson and Fred Hughes. She was predeceased by her parents, her first husband, Vonal Tracy, and her second husband Peter, Hiscoe Sr., as well as a son, Michael Tracy.
Friends called 9-10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 11 at Bowers Funeral Home, 10 Water St., Houlton, where a funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Interment was held in Woodstock, NB, Canada. To leave condolences please visit www.bowersfuneral.com
