HOULTON, Maine — University College at Houlton announces that registration for Spring 2018 is now open. The spring schedule includes over 1,000 courses from the seven University of Maine System campuses and includes classes in art, business, sciences, education, English, justice studies, psychology and many more.
“Obtaining a college degree opens the door to many career options and opportunities,” said Tracy Rockwell, the Houlton Higher Education Center Director. “According to the US Census, college graduates earn about twice as much as high school graduates. College graduates also have lower unemployment rates according to the US Department of Labor. There are many ways to finance a degree, including scholarships and federal and state grants.”
Rockwell noted that some courses do fill quickly, so there are advantages to acting early. She added it was not too late to begin in January and students do not need to be in a degree program in order to take classes.
Free academic advising appointments with Jean Henderson, student services coordinator, for new and returning students are available by calling 521-3100 or by going to the jeanhenderson.youcanbook.me scheduling link. All are invited to take a look at the variety of courses offered through the center by going to the learn.maine.edu/Houlton website and clicking on “Search Courses.”
