Mercy Home receives five-star national rating

EAGLE LAKE, Maine — Northern Maine General’s Mercy Home has received a five-star rating from Nursing Home Compare, a website managed by Medicare.gov that allows users to find and compare nursing homes that are Medicare and Medicaid Certified. Mercy Home’s rating is one of the highest among nursing homes in Aroostook County.

Each year Nursing Home Compare inspects more than 15,000 nursing homes across the country and gives them ratings based on health and fire safety inspections, staffing and quality measures. Mercy Home obtained high ratings in all categories, which contributed to the long term care and rehabilitation facility being awarded five out of five stars.

“Earning a five-star rating is a testament to Mercy Home staff making care delivery person-centered and achieving the highest outcomes that best suit each individual resident,” Northern Maine General CEO Reynold Raymond said.

Located in Eagle Lake at NMG’s main campus, Mercy Home has 40 beds that are certified for long term care and skilled rehabilitation patients and 10 beds certified for residential care. Nursing staff members assist a diverse group of residents, from geriatric to younger individuals in need of nursing, rehabilitative and residential services. They provide services such as inpatient and outpatient therapy, physical therapy occupational therapy and speech therapy.
