ARTHUR ‘ARTIE’ FREDERICK JIPSON, PRESQUE ISLE – Arthur ‘Artie’ Frederick Jipson, 63, passed away on November 14th, 2017. He was born June 14th, 1954, in Houlton, the son of Bessie Sawyer and Arthur Schillinger.
Artie attended schools in Connecticut and Houlton, where upon completing High School he was proud to serve in the United States Army where he worked as a mechanic and continued doing that as a hobby until the time of his death.
He is survived by his mother, Bessie (Jipson) Sawyer; sisters, Belinda and Wayne Cofske, Beth and Jody McAfee; nieces and nephews, Evan Gonya, Carla Sawyer, Melinda Moran, Ryan and Haley Sawyer, and Steven Moran; aunts and uncles, Hollis and Clara Jipson, Ansel Jipson, Harriet (Schillinger) Carpenter, Helena Schillinger, Brenda Swimm, Jean Sawyer and Linda Sawyer; several grand-nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his father, Arthur Schillinger; step-father, “Dad” Carl Sawyer Sr.; brother, Carl “Bub” Sawyer Jr.; grandparents, several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
