PRESQUE ISLE, Maine – Eric (Euclide) J. LaPointe, 84, passed away on Monday, November 20, 2017, with his family by his side. Eric was born in St. Leonard, New Brunswick, the son of Edmund LaPointe and Lillian Michaud.
Due to family hardship, at the age of 9 Eric was separated from his family of 17, but was reunited with many of them later in life, as their brother. Eric worked for Canadian Pacific Railroad, and then for Herschel Smith, Potato Farmer. He spoke frequently with his family about returning to Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia, Canada. Eric loved spending time with his family, and was a jokester until he couldn’t speak anymore. He especially loved camping with his family, and spending time going out dancing with his nieces at the VFW.
He is survived by his nieces, Shiela Lavoie, and her husband Mark of Limestone, and Paula Mulherin and her husband Randy of Limestone, a nephews, Nathan Fox of Limestone, Brad Giggey of Maine, and Erik Giggey of Presque Isle, nieces Vicki Evans of Limestone, and great niece, Erica Fox of Easton, and Kylie Saucier of Presque Isle, and several other great nieces and nephews. In addition he will be missed by his siblings, Carmela Michaud of West Hartford, CT, Louis James Michaud of Vernon, CT, Normand Michaud of Phoenix, AZ, Ann Marie Steele of Enfield, CT, Michael Michaud of Madison, NY, John Michaud of Hermon, ME, Roger Michaud of Hermon, Richard (Babe) Michaud of Van Buren, ME, and Rebecca Michaud of Phoenix, AZ. He will also be missed by his cousin, Barbara (LaPointe) Burmesch of WI, whom he was raised with.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Louise (Giggey) LaPointe in 2004, and his loyal dog, Daisy Mae, in 2008. He was also predeceased by many siblings.

Friends and family may call on Wednesday, November 22, 2017, from 6-8 p.m. at Duncan Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church Street, Presque Isle. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Monday, November 27, 2017 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Presque Isle.
