Iva A. Deveau

CARIBOU, Maine – Iva A. Deveau, 95, wife of the late Gerald Deveau, passed away on November 15, 2017, at her daughter’s Caribou residence. She was born in Caribou on August 18, 1922, the daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Cunningham) Gahagan. 

She was a graduate of Caribou High School and was employed as the store accountant at J.C. Penney in Caribou for many years. She married Gerald Deveau on August 10, 1947, and he predeceased her in 2001.
Mrs. Deveau was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, where she was also a member of the Daughters of Isabella. She was also a longtime, active member of the Lister Knowlton Post 9389 VFW Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Peter and Tina Deveau and David and Peggy Deveau, all of Caribou, and Timothy and Julie Deveau of Merrill, WS; one daughter, Cheryl Sue Olmstead and her companion, Robert Deering of Caribou; her grandchildren, Kenzy, Aaron, Heather, Seante, Wendy, Deak Maddie, Maggie, and Sarah; ten great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Deveau was predeceased by three brothers, Albert, Jack, and Arnold Gahagan, and five sisters, Evengelan Gahagan, Pauline Buxton, Eva Burr, Dot Bouchard, and Ruth Gahagan.
