CARIBOU, Maine – Robert Gauvin, 74, husband of Carol Lewis Gauvin, died November 15, 2017, at his Caribou residence. He was born in Caribou, November 3, 1943, the son of the late Fredrick and Cecile (Blancette) Gauvin.
He was a 1961 graduate of Caribou High School and married Carol (Lewis), February 23, 1963. He was a self-employed welder in Caribou, owning and operating Gauvin’s Welding for a number of years. Until his retirement, he was also employed by the United States Postal Service for more than 20 years. Bob was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt, fish and spend time in the outdoors with his family and friends.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 54 years, Carol, are his 2 daughters and son-in-law, Sheila and Rod Smith and Bobbie Dee Gauvin, all of Caribou; 3 brothers, Roland Gauvin of Caribou, Norman Gauvin of Lebanon, MS, and Delmond Frederick Gauvin of Boston; 2 sisters, Delores Kern of Las Cruces, New Mexico, and Irene St. Peter of Caribou; 5 grandchildren, Zackery, Robert Smith, Benjamin Lee Smith, Chlesea LeBlanc Rodriguez, Charlien Rose Burson and Abbigale Eve Gauvin; 1 great-granddaughter, Annabelle Rae Smith; and several nieces and nephews.
