MARS HILL, Maine – Virginia ‘Ginger’ Lee Cropley, 68, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on November 16, 2017, surrounded by family. She was born on January 27, 1949, in Mars Hill, the daughter of Richard and Marion (Green) Dumond.
Ginger had a heart of gold. She was an avid cook and shared her cooking with family, friends, community members, and local businesses. She also loved to fish, which she would clean and give away to others. She was an animal lover, particularly of cats, and had several pets throughout her life. Ginger was a member of both the American Legion Auxiliary of Mars Hill and the Sunshine Club; and she also volunteered her time to support the Aroostook Lodge, Aroostook Shine Club, Aroostook County Klown Unit and the Anah Shrine including the Shrine Hospital.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Milo Cropley; a son, Richard Cropley of Mars Hill; a daughter, Tracy Michaud and her husband, Dale of Presque Isle; two granddaughters, Danielle Cropley and her fiancé, Justin Stairs of Caribou and Jessica Cropley of Mars Hill; a brother, Richard Callahan and his wife, Erika of AL; two sisters, Mary Tardy of CT and Geraldine Thibodeau, DE; several nieces and nephews. Ginger was predeceased by her parents; two brothers, Gerald and Robert Dumond; daughter-in-law, Cathy Cropley and sister-in-law, Sandy Dumond.
