CARIBOU and PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — Pines Health Services recently announced the return of family medicine physician Dr. Hans Duvefelt, who brings decades of patient care experience to the Pines team.
Duvefelt completed his family practice residency in central Maine and his MD degree at Uppsala University in Sweden. He was first board certified in family medicine in 1984, and is currently preparing for recertification, as well as being NCQA certified in diabetes and cardiovascular disease.
He is a member of the American Medical Association, the Maine Medical Association and the New Brunswick Medical Society. In addition, he is medical director at Bucksport Regional Health Center, a federally qualified health center much like Pines.
Duvefelt sees patients Wednesdays and Thursdays at the Pines Presque Isle Health Center. Pines also has centers in Van Buren, Washburn, Fort Fairfield and Caribou.
In his spare time Duvefelt enjoys spending time with his Arabian rescue horses and miniature goats, and is currently working on a book about rural doctoring.
