Bottle drive

The CAHS Spanish Club is raising funds for a trip to Ecuador in April 2018.  They are collecting cans and bottles to raise funds.

To donate, take your items to the Mars Hill Redemption Center and designate the funds for the Spanish Club or call the school at 425-2811.

Rotary Club

The Mars Hill Rotary Club met Tuesday morning, Nov. 28, at 6:30 a.m. at the Aroostook Health Center.  The special speakers were Sadie Shaw, Rica Breton, Keara McCrum and Michaela Pelletier from CAHS.  They spoke about the 2017 Christmas Gift Drive that is held each year by the Student Council.

The drive provides gifts, clothes and other necessities for students and their siblings.  Members of the student council spend a day shopping for items designated only for a “boy age 8” or “girl age 6,” for example.

The gifts for a family are bagged up, with wrapping paper included, and delivered by the adults who know who to deliver them to. Names are provided by the teachers in the school system.

Last year, there were 18 families and 35 kids that benefited from this drive.

Wreaths Across America

Save The Date of Saturday, Dec. 16, when Wreaths Across America volunteers will place wreaths on veterans’ graves at more than 1,300 locations nationwide.  This year, there will be wreaths placed at the Corner Cemetery in Bridgewater at noon.

Each wreath will be decorated with a red bow, representing great sacrifice; circular in shape, representing eternity; made of evergreens, representing longevity and endurance; and scented like the forest, representing purity and simplicity.
